2006 Belmont Review
Jazil proved what his trainer Kiaran McLaughlin knew
all along, that he was a classic horse in the truest sense of the term.
Jazil bided his time at the rear of the pack until he made a heart
stopping move on the Belmont Park far turn under jockey Fernando Jara to catapult to the lead as the field straightened for home.
Bluegrass Cat (Todd Pletcher) fought valiantly but to no avail as Jazil
stormed home first with Bluegrass Cat second and Sunriver (also Todd
Pletcher) third. Steppenwolfer ran fourth.
