"How Our Selections Fared In Breeders Cup 2007 "

The Breeders Cup selections from Horse-Race-Handicapping.com held their own in 2007.  The high point was a $429 return on a 20-cent superfecta 6-horse-box [at a cost of $72] in the Breeders Cup Classic [with Curlin-Hard Spun-Awesome Gem].  Another good result was a $495 return on a $5 Exacta and a $2 Exacta in the Breeders Cup Distaff [both with Ginger Punch and Hystericalady].  The low point was an ugly whiff in the Breeders Cup Turf when Dylan Thomas ran off-the-board [losing to a well-prepared English Channel].  An hour later, George Washington would be euthanized after breaking down in the Classic [completing a forgettable day for the Europeans].

Overall, our selections fared much better Saturday than Friday.  Here is a run down of the results [using the best results of our Fast Track and Off Track Selections].  Practically all of our best payoffs came [not surprisingly] from the Off Track selections.  Bets on each race include WPS [$100], Exactas [$100], Trifectas [$100], Superfectas [$100]:

FRIDAY [3 Breeders Cup races]:

WPS returned $0 for $300
Exactas returned $90 for $300
Trifectas returned $215 for $300
Superfectas returned $50 for $300

SATURDAY [8 Breeders Cup races]:

WPS returned $910 for $800
Exactas returned $983 for $800
Trifectas returned $718 for $800
Superfectas returned $575 for $800

We all had a blast, even though the track and weather conditions were wet and ugly.  My regrets are that my longer priced selections [Irish Smoke, Argentina, and Kodiak Kowboy] could muster no better than a single third place finish [Kodiak Kowboy].  My satisfactions rest with very good exacta selections [Ginger Punch-Hystericalady paid $141.60 for $2, Corinthian-Gottcha Gold paid $60.20, Indian Blessing-Proud Spell paid $54.20, Kip Deville-Excellent Art paid $70.80, and Curlin-Hard Spun also paid $70.80].

It's time to put Breeders Cup behind us and move on, but I have one final item of news to relay.  During the year, I kept a running journal on some 300 horses [all potential Breeders Cup contenders].  In the end, only 141 of the 300 were pre-entered, and less than that actually ran.  I'm going to put together my comments on all 300 horses, along with a comparison of how Horse-Race-Handicapping.com selections compared with Steve Crist's selections [Steve Crist is the colorful editor of the Daily Racing Form], and release the whole package as an E-Book around New Year's 2008.  I'll charge a nominal fee [less than $10] for the journal, and it will provide great clues on the best two-year-olds hoping to win next year's Kentucky Derby.  This E-Book journal will serve as your guide to the best horses in each division [heading into 2008].

Look for your complimentary weekly race reports to resume after the Christmas holidays.  No action is required on your part.  In the meantime, don't be a stranger to the
www.Horse-Race-Handicapping.com website.

And for you dedicated horse race handicappers out there, I released a new E-Book this year by the title of "Horsing Around:  A Guide For The Everyday Horseplayer."  And don't be fooled by the title.  It's loaded with wonderful handicapping information from stem to stern.
